I fully approve of this halloween ball/concert/general festivities. One should always make a big deal out of halloween. Always. Fact of life, that is. (And no, we are not too old to dress up and celebrate, skeptics in the crowd)

But okay, serious dilemma. Costumes. What is everyone else dressing up as? I'm thinking either a superhero or some film noir detective. These are extremely difficult decisions though, one that you must not take lightly, so any all all advice is appreciated, please and thank you. (See, I'm using manners; it must be important.)

Fuck yeah. Further proof that Gryffindor is the most awesome house. Like anyone was ever questioning that.

I made the quidditch team. Fuck yeah. Demelza, we will be the most epic beater team (duo?) to ever be epic, yes/yes? I mean, this is not even up for debate. We will fucking rock like rockstars. Rockstars on brooms, if you will.

Also Ginny, I solemnly swear that I will be a dutiful team member and actually go to practices. I mean that. No slacking from me, no sir. Ma'am. Whatever. You know what I mean.

But yeah. I am really, really excited. This will be fun.

So I have detention. This has to be a new record. I've been here a whole week and I've only just gotten one. Either the Professors and Prefects care less or I'm being sneakier. Fuck if I know which. Maybe both. But yeah, detention. I skipped class, which is a pretty lame reason for detention. I mean, if you're going to get in trouble, might as well do it in style, yeah? Go out with a bang, if you will. Cutting class is pretty pedestrian.

But whatever, I don't regret it. It was gorgeous outside, and there was absolutely no reason to spend today cooped up in a classroom. I sound like one of those hippies, but you know what? They were on to something.
